EL PASO, Texas — El Paso recently welcomed native El Pasoan Germaine Franco for a memorable Encanto Day, where the Grammy-winning, Academy Award, and Emmy-nominated composer engaged with young patients in a celebration of music and community. Recognized as the first woman to score a Disney animated feature with her work on “Encanto,” Franco brought her remarkable talent back to her hometown, inspiring hope and joy in an intimate setting. During the event held in the Enchanted Forest at El Paso Children’s Hospital, patients had the unique opportunity to learn and perform alongside members of Eastlake High School’s Choir and Band, as well as talented singers from Pebble Hills High School.
