El Paso’s own The Roulettes are about to take center stage once again—this time with the release of their highly anticipated debut album through RSTE/AIG/Universal Music on October 25, 2025. The four-piece rock band, known for their electric live performances and unmistakable borderland energy, has spent nearly two years crafting this powerhouse project—and they’re celebrating in true Roulettes style: with a full-blown Halloween-themed music festival.

From Local Covers to Global Stage

Formed in 2016 as a local cover band, The Roulettes evolved into a full-fledged creative force after signing with UK label Rock Solid Talent Entertainment—a Universal Music partner—in 2024. The transition marked a turning point for the El Paso-based group, who quickly began writing and recording original material that blends hard rock grit, alternative rock edge, and melodic modern energy.

Since then, The Roulettes have become one of El Paso’s most sought-after live acts, performing everywhere from festivals and casinos to city-sponsored events, and even opening for major names like Fuel, Buckcherry, and Los Lonely Boys.

Inside the Debut Album

The Roulettes’ debut record is a genre-spanning mix of 11 tracks, featuring 10 original songs and one fiery cover of Pat Benatar’s “Heartbreaker.” The album showcases the band’s versatility, weaving together threads of hard rock, pop-rock, folk, and acoustic rock ’n’ roll. Their unique sound—a balance of classic riffs and alternative melodies—is inspired by influences such as Led Zeppelin, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, and Audioslave.

All four band members proudly embrace their Mexican heritage, and their bilingual background shines on the track “Volar,” a standout original recording that adds a rich cultural layer to the project.

Recording took place across El Paso and Cd. Juárez, culminating at the legendary Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, where the band worked alongside sound engineer Gabe Esparza and Grammy-winning producer Roger Argenis.

The album artwork was a collaborative effort between lead singer/guitarist Juan Flores and El Paso artist Emily Pearl, blending music and visual art into a striking, creative statement.

The First Singles and Visuals

Before the album drop, The Roulettes teased fans with three original singles, including “Scavenger,” the band’s very first self-written track, released in early 2024. The single’s music video—directed by El Paso filmmaker Paco Ibarra—is available now on YouTube and Instagram (@rouletteseptx).

Celebrate the Release at Fright Fest 2025

To mark the release, The Roulettes are hosting Fright Fest 2025, a massive Halloween-themed music festival happening Saturday, October 25, at San Jacinto Plaza in Downtown El Paso.

The all-ages event will feature:

  • Live music on two stages starting at 5:00 p.m.

  • Performances by local music schools, Let There Be Rock, and Sound Stage 9

  • A special country set from Joe Barron (visiting from Nashville)

  • A festival finale by DJ Johnny Kage

  • A headline performance by The Roulettes from 8:00–10:00 p.m., featuring songs from their new album, Halloween favorites, and rock classics

Festival-goers can also enjoy food trucks, vendors, themed décor, a free trick-or-treat trail for kids, and a costume contest with cash prizes. Kids ages 12 and under get in free, and adult refreshments will be available through Lotus Social House. Costumes are highly encouraged!
