That Viper red muscle car you see is a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. It’s absolutely gorgeous, blazing fast, and exceedingly rare, but what makes this Viper Barracuda so special is its distinct local character. It was commissioned by longtime El Paso resident James Kennedy, and built in Juarez, Mexico by Jesse Gonzalez of Street Toys Hot Rods—a process that took over three years. “The car was finished shortly after my father had been diagnosed with terminal cancer,” explains Mr. Kennedy. “The first time I saw the car was at SEMA with my father in Las Vegas. The car represents a dream, and the interconnection between Mexico and El Paso. It will always remind me of my dad, my mom, my wife and family, and this beautiful region we are lucky enough to call home.”

Just like his car, James Kennedy is 100% local. “I moved here in 1994, right after graduating from Texas Tech Law School. Honestly, I didn’t know much about El Paso, but I was just really thankful to have a job.  From the moment I moved here I realized what a fantastic place it was,” remembers Mr. Kennedy. “I love the border culture, the weather, and most of all, the people. Everyone is just so warm and welcoming. That’s why I decided to raise my family in El Paso, and that’s why I’m never going to leave.”

“I’m a part of this community,” says the Board-Certified personal injury trial lawyer. “Ultimately, my clients are my neighbors and I treat them as such.” Mr. Kennedy does everything in his power to make sure his clients are fairly compensated for their injuries or for the loss of a loved one killed in an accident. “He tries his best to schedule clients for an appointment in the office or at their homes or in the hospitals if necessary the same day they contact us,” says Josephine De La Cruz Kennedy, Mr. Kennedy’s wife and El Paso native.

Beyond treating his clients with dignity and respect, Mr. Kennedy represents his client’s interests in front of judges and juries on a regular basis.  “I’m a trial lawyer,” he says. “In fact, I am a Board-Certified personal injury trial lawyer.  I have been specializing in personal injury cases for over 25 years. I’m in the business of fighting for my clients and getting them everything they deserve. I love helping people fight the most powerful insurance companies and corporations in the world and I am not afraid to take a case to trial.”
